POWER OF FEEDBACK

Dec 2, 2021

Hope his wife’s name is Shruthi… only then he can say he is “married to Shruthi” 🤔😉😊

(For those who don’t know or realise it, the meaning of Shruthi in Sanskrit all over the Indian Music world is pitch, harmonic, cord or scale, I guess!)

This was my attempt at wry humour in giving FEEDBACK to a friend who shared a song by another friend and asked me for my views – or PoV – as it’s stylish to say!

All three of us were on the call and while I waited for the reaction of the singer there was a deadly silence of dread about how he might react since he could feel hurt by my daring, even foolish attempt at being funny! He didn’t become defensive or counterattack me….. A few seconds of deathly quiet and he roared with laughter and said : ” I must tell my wife Rita to change her name to Shruthi!”

Often providing FEEDBACK mindfully and carefully can help those who are already feeling “broken” by their failure….. With FAITH and sincerity one can however trust oneself and thereby trust the already affected “other” to UNDERSTAND…

It is a bit more easy, or so it seems, to provide feedback to the great and the famous and the successful but alas! They too “sense” When it is genuinely meant and when it is not coming from the heart! They too value it only through SELF-TRUST and then begin to trust your feedback!

Feedback is like Advice : “Not as Easy to GIVE, as it seems and certainly not as easy to TAKE, as it looks!”

ONE CAN BECOME A GREAT COACH OR GUIDE OR MENTOR ONLY BY BECOMING MORE SENSITIVE TO THIS PROCESS OF BECOMING AWARE OF ONESELF AND USING EMPATHY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY BEING ASSERTIVE ABOUT A ‘WIN-WIN WORLD’ OF ‘LIVE AND LET LIVE’ WITH ONE’S TRUE FEELINGS!

“WALK MINDFULLY ON THE MINEFIELD CALLED FEELINGS!” – that’s my Mantra! Tathastu – Thank you 😊
